FAQs
Before Your Tour
As soon as you book your ticket for fun, make sure your party completes the online waivers for each person. This will speed up the boarding process and if we get the boarding process done quickly then the tour can leave out quicker and that is free bonus time out on the Trolley!
On the day of the tour we ask that you arrive no later than 20 minutes before your tour at the Trolley! Most groups arrive even earlier and have drinks, split an appetizer and hang out in the Sip ‘n Dip Lounge before. We need you AT THE TROLLEY ON THE CORNER OF 7th and Central no later than 20 minutes prior to the ride! We will not wait for folks to start the Trolley. We will start on time. If you’re late, you can catch us at the first stop.
BRING YOUR ID! Please don’t forget this part. It’ll really hinder your experience because you’ll just have to jog sadly behind the bike, watching everyone else have fun. You’ll probably be crying. Just bring your ID. If you are not 21 you are not allowed on the Pub Trolley Tours. Under 21 is allowed on the historical tours each afternoon.
Wear comfortable shoes to peddle in. Bachelorettes, 3 inch heels are not going to cut it. Bring flats to change into for the peddling part. This is a bit of a workout so be prepared to get your heart pumping. Bring some water to start with.
When you board the cruise director will ask for everyone’s attention and review the rules. Help the director out by paying attention and staying quiet for just a bit. The cruise director will need to check everyone’s identification card as well for the Pub Trolley’s. You will be offered a helmet to wear. It is up to you to choose it wear it or not. The Trolley travels at a speed of up to 5 miles per hour. Doesn’t sound like a lot but if your noggin’ hits the pavement with out protection, that’s on you.
We have partner Bars that are our designated stops. If you charter the Trolley for an entire group, you can tell us where you want to travel too. There is a difference between buying all the seats for a regular scheduled tour and a charter Trolley so please let us know if you have questions.
On The Bike
We don’t want anyone to fall or get hurt, so when the cruise director shows you how to get up and down properly at the start, pay attention. Just basic common sense stuff here, you can’t jump off and do a fire drill, no spitting or swearing, don’t steal glasses from the bar (the driver will have you return them) if a bicyclist doesn’t high five you no need to run your mouth.
The driver/host will have plastic bags for you to put items in your pockets into. The number one reason people get hurt on the Trolley’s is because their phones or wallet fall out of their pockets. We ask that you keep your pockets clear. The Trolley driver will not stop for you to get back on. You can run along side to the next stop if you hop off to get a dropped item. Make it easier on all and put it into the bag or bring a wristlet or waist pack for your items. There is a storage area on the Trolley where you can leave items such as backpacks, etc. The captain will always remain with the Trolley.
Also the people that aren’t pedaling and are riding in the back should use the time to take photos because they will be able to take good photos and videos of the group. When we get to the stop the cruise director will let you know what time the group has to be back on the bike. It is important that you stick to the schedule because when you are late from one bar it just takes up bar time at the last bar and we don’t want to see the group be late at the first 2 bars and then have to rush in and drink the drink quickly at the 3rd bar. To keep the group on schedule let everyone know ahead of time to bring cash, it will make it easier for them to pay the organizer back but by not opening up tabs it allows groups to not wait on one person closing out their tab. The other reason is to tip your trolley staff, you will see that your hosts go above and beyond and earn it. The bike also has plenty of storage space whether it be purses, backpacks, clothing etc. Always take your purse, car keys and phone when you leave the bike at the end of the tour. If you leave something behind it will be at the front desk of the O’Haire Inn for 30 days. After that it’s donated to charity.
Alcohol Policy
There is no alcohol served on board the Trolley! Any beverages on the Trolley must be in a cup with a lid as you are pedaling between the bars. We will offer complimentary water on the Trolley.
Charter Tours
If you charter the Trolley for the whole group for a special occasion feel free to bring decorations for the event. Contact us if there are special stops you want to make. Please keep decorations tasteful and the driver has the right to refuse decorations if in poor taste. Just saying it out loud.
After the Tour
When we arrive at the finishing point the driver will take a group photo. This is a great time to tip your driver and host as they’ve put up with your hootin’ and hollerin’ for the past 2.5 hours. Be generous!
Do keep in mind that we are on tight schedules between tours so we can’t spend as much time as we want with your group after your trip. At this point we hope that you enjoyed your experience and want to do it again. We also ask that you write a review about us whether it be on Trip Advisor, Facebook, Google it all counts for us as we try to grow our business.
Don't Be That Person!
- does not pedal when on a pedal seat
- does not listen when the driver repeatedly tells everyone to empty their pockets while pedaling.
- who brings any glass on board. It’s not allowed.
- who holds up the group from leaving one bar so they can smoke a cigarette/use the bathroom or close out a tab
- steal glasses from the bar
- who asks “we have to pedal this?”
- interrupts the driver during the pre-tour speech. Trying to give instructions to large groups is hard enough before losing your train of thought. Pedal tour drivers are witty so expect them to call that person out.
- Makes a rude gesture to the motorist behind the Trolley because we’re traveling slower than they are. Cussin’ and rude hand gestures will get you tossed off the Trolley by the driver so just don’t do it.
- who calls someone riding past us on a regular bike a show off
- complains that they have to dump their drink from the last bar out because you’ve been hootin’ and hollerin’ the entire in-between-stops route. Alcohol purchased in one bar cannot be consumed in another. So either drink it down between stops or dump it out in a trashcan as you head into the next stop. This rule is a State of Montana rule and one that will be strictly enforced.
- thinks that you can sneak an underage person into a bar and feed them alcohol. We will card and fake ID’s will be confiscated. We’re keeping ourselves and our partner bars safe.
Customers will receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price. If you are rude, belligerent, combative or just generally not a nice person to fellow riders or Trolley staff you will be asked to get off the Trolley with no refund to your ticket. So get on, sit down, have fun and be a good fun fellow peddler.
IMPORTANT:
If we are not able to book a minimum of 8 seats – the bike will not go out (for physical reasons of pedaling the bike). We will contact you if there are less than 8 seats booked for your time slot! If a ride has to cancel due to this minimum, we will refund your payment if we are unable to reschedule your reservation.
